Newcastle Electrofringe 2002.

They came, They saw, They made a Mess!

Fresh from throwing tampons at fiery feminists and getting covered in shaving crème, hot chips and 50 pairs of pink plastic children's shoes at Newcastle's "This is Not Art Festival", Team Plastique admit they are on a roll and will certainly dish up some provocative surprises at Oct 26's Market Day. The Team infamous for their bizarre on-stage performances and tantalising costumes (which sometimes fall off) matched with thumping electro tunes took This Is Not Art by storm. "We realised what the crowds wanted was more fun," says Team Plastique's Legs Akimbo, "and as the Teams' a bunch of posers posing as posers we certainly know how to deliver." The Team's panel titled "The Team Plastique Electroclash Spectacular" was where the tampon incident occurred. "It was all good, clean fun," adds Legs "..the tampons were covered in fluoro pink nailpolish and the feminist was really, really angry. But I think everyone kinda knew we planted her, we love faux (fake) stunts." As for their Market Day performance, the team hints an exercise bike, Japanese schoolgirls a large jar of peanut butter (crunchy) will be involved…
